BigStar_Host: Hello everyone! We've got a great chat ready for
tonight. We have the beautiful and talented Daisy Fuentes. Dasiy was the first crossover VJ to appear both on the
Spanish language MTV Latino and the original MTV. IN addition to her duties on MTV Daisy is now the host of "America's
Funniest Home Videos." Daisy continues to represent Revlon's classic cosemetic, fragrance and beauty treatment
lines. Daisy began her career in 1986 while studying communications and journalism at Bergen Community College.
A former member of CNBC's "Talk All-Stars," Fuentes shared the limelight with such famed talkers a Phil
Donahue, Dick Cavett and Geraldo Rivera. Daisy has appeared on multiple covers of the Spanish language version
of "Cosmopolitan," "Vandidades," and "Harper's Bazaar." She has also had covers for
"Eres," "Shape," "Fitness," and "Latina." She also currently holds endorsements
with Pantene, M&M's and American Express. On which ABC daytime drama (SOAP) did Daisy have a recurring role
on while she was at MTV?? Daisy's additional television credits include guest appearances on "Dream On,"
"Cybill" and, most recently, "The Larry Sanders Show," which is now sadly off the air. Did
you all know that Daisy is fluent in Spanish and English and was born in Havana, Cuba, and left on her third birthday
to reside in Spain? And, four years later, her family settled in New Jersey, where she still currently resides.
Some of the programs that Daisy has co-hosted for the MTV network include "One on One with Michael Jordan,"
and "Fashionably Loud." She also hosted "House of Style," where she did segments on location
and in the new "House of Style" studio in Times Square. So, what do you all think of Daisy's new role
as new co-host of the "America's Funniest Home Videos"? Daisy also hosted the 1995 Miss Universe pageant

BigStar_Celeb: I think what made it so great is for any young person
with a love of life, music, and this business, it can't get much better than that.

asks: What are your top health and beauty tips?
BigStar_Celeb: Um ...
BigStar_Celeb: I think at this stage of my life it's more important
to be emotionally healthy and happy than it is to worry about whether I eat that slice of pizza or not.
BigStar_Celeb: I think it's sad when it's your main focus, unless it's
because of health problems.
BigStar_Celeb: I jus try to look as good as I can. It doesn't always
work .. but I don't stress over it.
BigStar_Celeb: I just started talked Pilates and I really like it. So
far so good.
BigStar_Celeb: I needed an alternative to working out, was getting bored.
BigStar_Celeb: I really like it. I'd recommend it.

BigStar_Celeb: Only God knows the real answer to that.
BigStar_Celeb: I sent them a tape cause I was a huge fan.
BigStar_Celeb: I got an audition and seven months later I got notice
that they needed someone who spoke Spanish for their Latin program.
BigStar_Celeb: Shortly after that I started on the regular MTV.

BigStar_Celeb: To respect yourself.

BigStar_Celeb: And, realize that there are many advantages to being
a woman especially a well respected, talented, successful woman.

BigStar_Celeb: Know who you are and how you want the world to see you,
be very clear with that.
BigStar_Celeb: I think those are the most important things.

BigStar_Celeb: It was really rewarding for me cause I love TV and it
was the biggest production I've been involved with and that led to Miss Universe, which is seen all over the world

I've chosen with it's ups and downs.
BigStar_Celeb: But, I'm not one to complain .. I deal with problems
as they come .. I go on vacation, have my private time and public moments.
BigStar_Celeb: I balance everything out.
BigStar_Celeb: When I don't want to be seen or heard from, no one can
find me.

taken seriously all. the time.
BigStar_Celeb: I host a show called America's Funniest HOme Videos!
BigStar_Celeb: I'm not a hardcore serious person .. but I do want to
be respected all the time.

BigStar_Celeb: Painless, easy for me, I have a lot of fun with it ...
BigStar_Celeb: And, I enjoy it .. I'd watch the show if i wasn't doing
it cause it truly makes me laugh.
BigStar_Celeb: I enjoy helping people have a good time and laugh ...
I'm a true believer in you have to enjoy it.

BigStar_Celeb: I just try to look for whatever looks good on me and
believe me, not everything does.

BigStar_Celeb: I've had a lot of really good jobs that have taken me
all over the world.
BigStar_Celeb: I try to enjoy every opportunity given to me and enjoy
it to the fullest.

to do that with everything that I do.

BigStar_Celeb: I think the ideal for most women .. the girls I know
.. with someone who is attentive .. a fun person, respectful and I can appreciate when a gentleman remembers to
be a gentleman.
BigStar_Celeb: When men respect women is the most beautiful thing.
BigStar_Celeb: You're automatically putting each other at ease, and
there's a comfort zone that allows a good time.
BigStar_Celeb: If you want to get into details .. champagne, caviar,
and Lionel Richie in the background wouldn't hurt.

very well could be.
BigStar_Celeb: I really don't know.
BigStar_Celeb: I have no idea .. don't think that far ahead .. I don't
even know what I'm doing next week!

BigStar_Celeb: I think it's being able to have a voice.
BigStar_Celeb: Being able to use my celeb for important causes, things
that reward me.
BigStar_Celeb: I have a lot of fun and it's a silly business ... gives
me the chance to be a good person, to be heard and call attention to causes that I think need people's attention.
BigStar_Celeb: Important thing like children's diseases .. I work very
closely with St. Jude's Children's Hospital and the UCLA Breast Cancer Research Association ..
BigStar_Celeb: I have the opportunity to be heard because of what I
do ... to ask for donations .. there willl be those that want to listen and help and those that are not interested.
BigStar_Celeb: That's their choice.
BigStar_Celeb: But, I am given the choice to speak and that's worth
a lot to me.

BigStar_Celeb: There is no typical day.
BigStar_Celeb: I run around a lot and basically ... I guess on a typical
day when I have a quiet day, I try to fit in an exercise class, facial, things that take care of myself.

BigStar_Celeb: I try to fit in fun and relaxing things for myself.

BigStar_Celeb: Oh they're really funny, great guys and it is a MAD set,
it's a lot of fun!
BigStar_Celeb: That was a great experience.
BigStar_Celeb: I'd do it again, sure.

BigStar_Celeb: Hmm ..
BigStar_Celeb: I'm usually mistaken for myself.
BigStar_Celeb: People usually don't think it's me they just say I look
like me a lot.
BigStar_Celeb: I find it amazing when I'm walking around with no makeup
and my hair in a ponytail and my glasses on .. I try to picture me in drag.
BigStar_Celeb: So, when they say it's not me and I say I'm a lot cuter
than she is! And, they say yeah, you are!

BigStar_Celeb: Hmmm .... hardest obstacle in life.
BigStar_Celeb: I think it was realizing that I don't need anybody or
anything to really make it.
BigStar_Celeb: Becoming sure of myself while still being able to accept
criticism .. knowing that I came into this world alone and I'll leave alone.
BigStar_Celeb: I have a lot of love to give and I am learning to accept
love .. learning not to depend on anyone for anything ... and to accept that.
BigStar_Celeb: That was a hard obstacle.

are before you get involved in this business cause a lot of people will tell you who you should become or be.
BigStar_Celeb: And, you should respect yourself as a young lady and
know what you will and will not do.
BigStar_Celeb: Make sure your parents are with you every step of the
way .. they'll make sure no one hurts you.

up but we couldn't fit into each other's schedules .. maybe next season.

BigStar_Celeb: I'm very moody when it comes to music, it depends on
the day and the mood.
BigStar_Celeb: Erykah Badu, the Fugees or Stones to Lionel Richie, Enya

BigStar_Celeb: I did go to college for two years, never finished cause
I started working in TV before I had a chance to finish.
BigStar_Celeb: With all the traveling I messed up in school .. that's
one regret I have.

can stick through the committment and the hard work it takes to get a degree.

.. I believe in something very strong.

Masters by Dr. White and I recommend it to anyone into the spiritual thing or has questions as to whether to believe
or not.
BigStar_Celeb: This will guide you .

from this business .. open a little restaurant, I love to cook, entertain, host parties, and be with people I like.
BigStar_Celeb: Be involved in running it.
BigStar_Celeb: I'd do a mix of Italian food and Cuban food, Spanish
food.
BigStar_Celeb: Those are my favorites.

what are you, nuts?

or good or whatever you are, they'll always need a comparison and that's a stereotype which is a WHOLE other topic.

BigStar_Celeb: My favorite place in the world is a little medieval town
about 15 minutes outside of Monaco called Eze.
BigStar_Celeb: This is an amazing little place with amazing food and
the most beautiful view I've ever seen in my life.
BigStar_Celeb: It's a tremendous little hideaway, up on a mountain top,
in the clouds, used to be a pirate viewing point .. literally in the clouds.

BigStar_Celeb: Everything seems to be going in that direction .. I've
been getting pressure from everyone on my team to get out there and audition .. who knows .. definitely a possibility.
BigStar_Celeb: I don't want to do anything that's too out of line with
my character.
BigStar_Celeb: I feel I've worked hard to be seen a certain way and
build somewhat of an image.
BigStar_Celeb: I wouldn't want to stray too far from that.

BigStar_Celeb: I'm allowed to come and go from my country as I want,
I am no longer starving, my family doesn't have to stand in line for a piece of bread for days.

I did.

BigStar_Celeb: I'd like to be more educated on art and become either
a wine collector or an art collector.
BigStar_Celeb: Have your own vineyard, make your own wine, and collect
fabulous bottles of wine and or maybe art, I love both.

boyfriend, someone I work with, I have to admire that person.

and this little boy came out of nowhere and grabbed both my cheeks in his hands and popped a big kiss on my lips!

BigStar_Celeb: And, I'd never experienced that in my life and I freaked
out and cased him around the classroom til I caught him and I just punched him to death!

BigStar_Celeb: It's a very hard time.
BigStar_Celeb: You basically are setting the standards for yourself
as a woman around that age, your behavior now will be with you for a long time.
BigStar_Celeb: So, it's important not to be stressed by it, or pressured
into anything .. know that you're a woman .. you can have any man you want.
BigStar_Celeb: That's the way it's going to be .. men love and need
women the same way we love them, but respect yourself and make them respect you.
BigStar_Celeb: If someone doesn't respect you and treat you like a young
lady, there's no reason you should even have a conversation with this person.
BigStar_Celeb: That goes doubly for boys, even at that age, they should
learn to respect women. ANd, you should learn not to accept anything less.

BigStar_Celeb: I think ... that I hate the man for having an affair.
BigStar_Celeb: For what he did to his wife, but I love him for what
he's doing to this country and I think it's time that we leave him alone and let him do his work.
BigStar_Celeb: We're embarrassing ourselves as a country by dwelling
on it .. he screwed Monica Lewinsky, he didn't screw the country.

BigStar_Celeb: I met a woman when I was doing a fashion show who was
Hispanic, we started speaking Spanish and she suggested I do Spanish TV cause I spoke Spanish perfectly well.
BigStar_Celeb: And, it happened that her husband was the president of
the network and she took me under her wing and guided me.
BigStar_Celeb: She really believed in me.

BigStar_Celeb: I would say you should be yourself.
BigStar_Celeb: If someone makes you uncomfortable to the point where
you feel you have to put on airs to be able to talk to them, don't be concerned with that.
BigStar_Celeb: Be kind and courteous to everyone, be nice and be yourself
and you'll know right away who you feel comfortable talking to and who you don't.
BigStar_Celeb: Then, again what do I know?!

BigStar_Celeb: I would say go to the agencies or even start in your
town when they're holding open auditions and get some advice the same way that girls would.
BigStar_Celeb: Be sure of who you are and how you want to be seen and
be careful.

BigStar_Celeb: Oh goodness, ....
BigStar_Celeb: It's a bit intimidating always stepping into a TV show
that's been so successful for so many years.
BigStar_Celeb: The show is in it's tenth season and I took it seriously
regardless of the fact that it's a lighthearted funny show .. it's a huge show.
BigStar_Celeb: I had the responsibility of whether it was going to go
off the air or continue .. that is a big responsibility and a show doesn't make it to the tenth season by being
half-assed.

BigStar_Celeb: I have a tattoo on my left ankle of a Scorpion which
I got on my birthday when I was 20. cause I am a Scorpio.
BigStar_Celeb: And, no piercings except for my ears.

BigStar_Celeb: Um .. I'd take my boyfriend.
BigStar_Celeb: I'd take probably some classic Rolling Stones CD.

BigStar_Celeb: The book would be Many Lives of Many Masters by Dr. White.

in moderation ... that's the key for me.

BigStar_Celeb: Oh, cause I had been doing it for ten years and I just
wanted to make a graceful exit before I was kicked out and people got tired of seeing me on that channel.

BigStar_Celeb: Take it from Jerry Seinfeld ;)

BigStar_Celeb: No, that's not really my style.
BigStar_Celeb: Um, no I never really thought about it much, thought
it was a little too strenuous to be fun. They take it very seriously.

BigStar_Celeb: And, after all, being single is not bad. There's nothing
wrong with being single and enjoying it.

BigStar_Celeb: There are huge problems in every industry, you see the
entertainment industry cause it's very public.
BigStar_Celeb: But, if you go into other fields, doctors, lawyers, janitors,
teachers all have drug problems .. it's a problem of the world, it doesn't select by race, profession, or religion.
BigStar_Celeb: It doesn't discriminate. It's a huge problem.

of Paco de Lucia ... an incredible flamenco guitarist .. his latest CD is called Lucia .. and I"m trying to
find it!
